OneOTT Intertainment (OIL), stylised as ONEOTT iNTERTAINMENT, is an Indian Telecommunication company and a subsidiary of NXT Digital Limited, part of Media Vertical of Hinduja Group.[1] It is headquartered in Mumbai and is also known as One BroadBand and ONE GigaFiber.[2]. It holds a Unified Access Services – ISP Category, PAN India License and Infrastructure Provider - Category I Certificate granted by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, Government of India & Downlinking Permission issued by Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB).[3]

History[edit]

OneOTT Intertainment, formerly known as Planet E-Shop Holdings India Limited was founded in 2000[4]

Services[edit]

OIL is an internet service provider that offers internet services in over 40 cities across India that includes high-speed internet connectivity over a Fibre optic GPON last mile to the customers through their flagship brand, ONE GigaFiber.[5] The plan comes with various speed limits (15Mbit/s, 25Mbit/s, and 1Gbit/s) and prices.[6][7]

Partnerships[edit]

On Feb 2018, OneOTT partnered with Nokia, a telecommunication, information technology, and consumer electronics company to boost end to end network.[8] Under this partnership Nokia replaced legacy Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS)-based network with new fibre network to serve the ultra-broadband needs of the ONEOTT customers.[9]

Awards[edit]

In October 2019, OneOTT Intertainment received the Telecom Lead's Innovation Leaders 2019 award for taking broadband connectivity to unconnected Indians in urban locations.[10][11] The award was given to OIL for launching a pilot with the initial deployment of ONE Express Wi-Fi in Dharavi, Mumbai, that enabled consumers to access Internet @ 2GB of data per day free for 30 days via ONE EXPRESS Wi-Fi hotspots.[12]
