Owen Davies (born 29 March 1993), better known as ODPixel, is a British professional Dota 2 caster. He is known for his energetic and engaging casting style, his ability to create memorable moments, and his passion for the game.[1] [2]
Career[edit]
Davies' career began in 2015 when he started casting amateur Dota 2 leagues. He quickly gained a following for his enthusiasm and ability to bring excitement to the games. In 2015, he was given the opportunity to cast a 200-minute match between Cloud9 and ScaryFaceZ at StarLadder.[3] [4] His casting of this game caught the attention of many viewers and helped to launch his career. Since then, Davies has cast at many of the largest Dota 2 tournaments in the world.[1] [5] Since TI5 Davies has been a regular caster of The Internationals, including the Upper Bracket Finals in TI6 and TI7 and the Grand Finals in TI8, T19, T21 T22, T23. At The International 2018, ODPixel finally got his chance to cast the Grand Finals. Alongside longtime casting partner Fogged and special guest Ben "Merlini" Wu, the caster got to call the action as OG took on PSG.LGD in the Grand Finals. During the finals, ODPixel made one of the most iconic calls in Dota 2 history. When OG's off-laner Sébastien "Ceb" Debs performed a crucial play while playing Axe, ODPixel screamed his name for the entire play, "CEEEEEEEB". This one-word-line became the most popular voice line in the Dota 2 Battle Pass. [6]
Music[edit]
Besides being a caster Davies is also a musician. He has released several rap videos, including one with WePlay that has over 100,000 views. Before his casting career, Davies was a music student and studied music technology at Leicester DMU. He has also released his own music and has been featured in other Dota 2 videos.[7] [1]
