Peach and Goma are two cartoon cat characters created by digital artist Bu Jue Xiao Xiao in 2017. The characters were first published on the LINE messaging app and the Chinese social media site, Weibo.

Background[edit]

In 2017, Bu Jue Xiao Xiao published the first Peach and Goma sticker pack on LINE, while her official art page was only available on Weibo due to Chinese censorship laws.[1] In 2022, Xiao Xiao started an online blog and made the animated sticker packs available for free use on Telegram and other messaging apps.[1][2]

Characters[edit]

Peach is a white female cat and Goma is a gray male cat.[2] Peach is also sometimes referred to as Mitao Cat or Mochi Cat.[3] They are a couple and often appear alongside each other in comics. The characters have a variety of stickers, GIFs, and short comics, most often used by couples.[4]

Peach and Goma are similar to Milk & Mocha, a pair of bear characters created in 2016. According to some fans, Milk & Mocha directly inspired Peach and Goma, although this was never confirmed by Bu Jue Xiao Xiao.[5]
