Rachid Ghanimi (born 25 April 2001) is a Moroccan professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for the Botola club FUS Rabat.
Ghanimi was first called up to the Morocco national team for the friendly game against Cape Verde and the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification game against South Africa.
Club career[edit]
Rapide Oued Zem[edit]
In 2021, Ghanimi signed for Rapide Oued Zem.[1] He made his first appearance in a 1-0 win over Ittihad Tanger.[2] Ghanimi would then mainly play as the back-up goalkeeper for Rapide Oued Zem for Mohamed Boujad.[3]
FUS Rabat[edit]
After getting minimal game time with Rapide Oued Zem, Ghanimi would leave the club and join FUS Rabat for an undisclosed fee.
International career[edit]
Despite missing a call up to the 2022 FIFA World Cup,[4] Ghanimi was called up to the Morocco national team for the games against Cape Verde and South Africa.[5][6] In those games, he was the third choice keeper behind Munir Mohamedi and Yassine Bounou.[7] He is one of Morocco's top 6 goalkeepers.[8]
