Rakul Preet Singh is an Indian actress who has played roles in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil films. She had made her screen debut with 2009 Kannada film Gilli, which was commercially successful. She made her Telugu and Tamil debut with bilingual film Keratam before she got her breakthrough in Tamil and Telugu with the films Thadaiyara Thaakka and Venkatadri Express. She got her first Filmfare Award for Best Actress nomination for Venkatadri Express. She made her Hindi Debut with 2014 coming-of-age romantic comedy film Yaariyan where she was nominated for Producers Guild Film Award for Best Female Debut.
Singh is a recipient of a SIIMA Award in addition with four nominations at Filmfare Awards South.
