The 2023 EFL League One play-off Semi-Final (Also known as the Miracle of Hillsborough[1]) was a two-leg association football match between Sheffield Wednesday and Peterborough United on 12 & 18 May 2023 at London Road Stadium, Peterborough and then Hillsborough Stadium, Sheffield. It was to determine team who would qualify for the 2023 EFL League One play-off final and this gain promotion from EFL League One, the third tier of English football, to the EFL Championship.

After Sheffield Wednesday lost by 4-0 in the first leg it was highly expected they would not qualify, however in the Second leg Wednesday managed to take the game to extra-time and penalties by scoring 5 goals. this became a new record come back for the English Play-offs beating the previous record of a 2–0 deficit
