Early Life
Born at the Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York on January 26, 1995, $hock Medusa was given the name “Shakor” at birth. With a name so similar to hip-hop legend Tupac Shakur, it’s no surprise he was drawn to the world of hip-hop. The name “Shakor” eventually evolved into “$hock,” a nickname given by friends close to Shakor. Eventually, the term “Medusa” was added on, which is where the artist’s name “$hock Medusa” derives from.
From a very young age, $hock Medusa was heavily interested in music. By the age of six, he was already captivated by artists such as 50 Cent, who ended up becoming one of his most significant musical influences. $hock Medusa spent his youth growing up in Brooklyn, New York City and credits a lot of his musical influence to his hometown neighborhood. $hock Medusa believes his life has been a mission since birth and this, combined with his love for music, led him to begin his career as a musician at age twelve when he began DJing at small gigs.
Once $hock Medusa reached high school in 2013, his hard work and determination led him to book his first-ever paid gigs as a musician. Entering high school, he already had a blueprint envisioned for the empire he wanted to build around entertainment, music, and fashion. Since then, he has been working relentlessly to share his talents with the world. His passions have driven him throughout his rise to the top as he navigates the music industry.
Career
$hock Medusa, now verified on Facebook, has received great praise from listeners for his music, and his current following is growing every day. He has already reached verified artist status on the streaming platform Spotify and is making his name known in the world of hip-hop music. So far, he has released over thirty singles globally and collaborated with a wide variety of artists. Not only is $hock Medusa a musician, but he is an entrepreneur as well.
