"524" Thermonuclear weapon used by DF-3 and DF-4 missile since 1970s until 2010s.
The "524" Thermonuclear warhead design derived from "639-6" Device which tested on 17 June 1967, but the fission primary stage used composite pit from plutonium and uranium-235 to reduce the size and dimension.
"524" Warhead became backbone of China nuclear forces in 1980s–2010s, before replaced by "535" Thermonuclear warhead in early 2010s.
"524-23" Also developed using this design for nuclear gravity bomb role.
This warhead tested on 27 December 1968, 29 September 1969, 14 October 1970, 27 June 1973, with equivalent of 3 Megatons in each test.
