"Cowboy" Mach Bell
Cowboy Mach Bell, born Mark Bell (January 23, 1953), is an American, Boston area-based singer, songwriter & guitarist best known as the vocalist for The Joe Perry Project from 1982 to 1984, appearing on the band's 3rd release "Once A Rocker, Always A Rocker" in 1983 on MCA/Geffen records. From 1974 to 1979, Mach fronted and recorded with the Natick, Massachusetts-based band Thundertrain, playing in clubs all around the New England area and New York. Throughout his career as a singer/songwriter/guitarist, Mach performed/recorded with Boston-based bands Black Sun, The Cynics, Wild Bunch, Biggy Ratt, Mag 4, Last Man Standing & Mach 5. His current band, MBE (Mach Bell Experience), formed in 2022, is currently playing live shows in the New England area and are working in the studio recording original songs.
Mach Bell is also an author, publishing two memoirs on Panther Rock Books: The first book, released in 2019, is titled "Once A Rocker Always A Rocker: A Diary". It details his time on the road and in the studio with The Joe Perry Project, from journals he kept during that time. An audiobook of his diary came out a year later. His 2nd book, released in 2021 and titled "I Gotta Rock", is also a first-hand account of his journal writings, starting in his teenage years attending concerts, playing in bands, and living the rock & roll life, from 1965–1985.
