Āftābeh

A traditional hand-held plastic, metal, or ceramic bidet vessel used for cleaning genitalia and anus in a toilet, after urination and defecation. The modern-day counterpart of Āftābeh (Persian: آفتابه) is the portable/travel bidet spray bottle which is used as a replacement for bidet shower or bidet spray (Persian: شیلنگ توالت).
Old-fashioned copper Āftābeh is now regarded as a memorabilia item in Iran.
