It is derived from the glyph of the Persian letter čē (چ) with an additional dot to represent [[[:Template:IPA-link]]] in Sindhi,[1] [[[:Template:IPA-link]]] in Balti,[2] and [[[:Template:IPA-link]]] in Shina,[3] Torwali,[4] Ushojo,[5] and Khowar.[6] It is alternatively represented by the digraph چھ and is equivalent to the Devanagari letter छ.
