Maldonado, also known as Set (born May 18th, 2009), is an internet celebrity known mostly for his memes and music. Set is a part of a rap group named ANTI-SYNDICATE along with his classmates from Goshen High School. Set and ANTI-SYNDICATE don't have any official released music published, but they have announced a self-titled debut album; however, the release date is not yet known. Set is a clarinet player in the Goshen Crimson Marching Band.[1] where, during their time in the Goshen Crimson Marching Band, they made ISSMA state finals in 2023 (8th place) and in 2024 (10th place)[2]
Life
Set was born on May 18th, 2009, in Goshen, Indiana. Set attended Goshen Middle School, Goshen Junior High School, and Goshen High School. While attending Goshen High School, Set joined the Goshen Crimson Marching band where he met ANTI-SYNDICATE members MfDux, AyoSteelo, Lozy, Galini, Justin, and Eric during the marching band season. Set and the other group members, playing and marching together, grew their musical chemistry and musical abilities. Set is dating classmate Mia Yepez Cornejo, which he met in his ceramics class.[3]
Music
Set has been making music since he was eleven years old, but only published one song on SoundCloud, which is now deleted. Set writes and produces his music with help from fellow ANTI-SYNDICATE members. Set and ANTI-SYNDICATE prioritize making soul beats and boom bap beats with Set and Galini’s sampling ability. Set takes inspiration from many rappers, but has mentioned Ye (formally known as Kanye West) specifically multiple times on his Instagram page, @miguelbutcooler. Other inspirations for Set’s music are Freddie Gibbs, MF DOOM, The Alchemist, and Playboi Carti.
