021kid (real name Tony Mohraz) is an Iranian-British rapper, songwriter, and record producer based in London.[1][2] He grew up in Tehran and moved to the United Kingdom as a young adult, later becoming associated with the UK drill scene in London.[2]

Mohraz performs in both Persian and English and has been described in music media as an early figure in the development of Persian drill.[3]

Career

Early career

021kid's music career developed between Iran and the United Kingdom. After moving from Tehran to the UK, he became active in the London drill scene and incorporated Persian-language lyrics into a style influenced by UK drill and hip-hop.[2]

In March 2023, 021kid appeared in the third season of The Cold Room, a freestyle series hosted by producer Tweeko and presented through Mixtape Madness. He performed the opening episode of the season, becoming one of the Iranian artists associated with the UK's drill scene.[3]

Political music

021kid's music has also addressed political and social issues in Iran. In 2024, Voice of America reported on a song by 021kid released in response to the death sentence issued to Iranian rapper Toomaj Salehi, with the song calling for his freedom.[4]

In May 2026, 021kid released a Persian remix of the Israeli rap song Harbu Darbu by Ness & Stilla. The remix attracted international media attention for its political lyrics directed against the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its security forces.[5][6][7]

The remix was subsequently discussed by The Jerusalem Post and The Guardian in the context of Iranian political opposition and the Iranian diaspora in London.[2][1]

London political activity in 2026

In May 2026, The Guardian reported that 021kid was an advocate for the return of the Pahlavi dynasty to Iran, specifically supporting Reza Pahlavi. The newspaper described his drill performances in London as part of tensions between competing factions of the Iranian opposition.[1]

The Guardian also reported that a supporter of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran complained to the Metropolitan Police about a video featuring Mohraz. According to the newspaper, police told the complainant that the matter was being taken seriously.[1]
