03 Winter
Born Slone Potts in North Denver, 03 Winter emerged from the corners of the underground rap scene with his blend of dark indie rock and hip-hop, harmonizing over Red Hot Chili Peppers-type guitars and electronic, ambient pianos creating a unique sound that puts you in a sonic daze. His music portrays a scene full of depression, love, anxiety, addiction, and a dystopian generation. He started producing music in his early teens, eventually adopting the name 03 Winter taken from the time he was born, the Winter of 2003. His parents would surround him with Alternative and Rap music which only immersed him even more. Music runs through his veins. It's genetically embedded within the rapper. He started making music with some friends who lived around North Denver to start solidifying his sound as an artist. In October of 2021, beginning his first album, he made the choice to leave Colorado for the rap scene. He relocated to Phoenix, Arizona where he would find connections to get studio time every day. 03 stayed in Arizona for a year until July of 2022 when he felt it was ready to put everything into rap, making the choice to move to Los Angeles, California. He has been recording his next album in Pasadena where he has worked with artists that fit his style of Hip-Hop such as Daytona Fox while also receiving connections into the film industry. He provided services for clients like Seth Rogen, Will Ferrell, Sofia Vergara, and others.
He’s planning to release his first album as 03 Winter in spring of 2022 with features from artists around Southern California with his aim being relatable music to listen to no matter one’s belief system while making his own genre, changing the music scene as a whole.
The titles of 03’s tracks sum up the unique sound with his fusion of Alternative R&B and hip-hop that puts you in a sonic daze creating a scene of a dystopian generation inspired by Bon Iver and XXXtentacion.
