Massimiliano Peluso and Andrea Turri co-founded 100ASA in response to the lack of safe and enjoyable online service for photographers to share images online.[6] [7]As professional photographers, Peluso and Turri realized that the market was in need of a 'truly curated photography website in the market' that would provide photographers with a fair, transparent and reputation-based curation process.[8]Building on these challenges, the duo created a platform with a model that allows a community of photographers to curate other photographers.
Technology[edit]
100ASA used latest technologies to ensure a seamless user experience and is the only photo sharing website providing instant translation for comments users add to photos in their own language. The site makes use of AI-technology to measure the popularity index of a photo. Unlike most other website, 100ASA doesn't use a 'linear' approach to calculate popularity. Instead, it uses a non-disclosed self-learning code that adapts and learns from previous experiences.

100ASA offers four galleries: Elite, Prime, Upcoming and Opening depending on photo popularity. 100ASA reviews photos on the galleries based on a number of different criteria. Photos for the Elite Gallery are hand-picked by the team to ensure top quality, making up to 3% of the total photos on the website.
