From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

1201 Streuna is an asteroid in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. It is approximately 2.7 AU away from the Sun and has a diameter of 35 kilometres.

Etymology

1201 Streuna is named for the Latin word Strennus, which means "strong" and "careful".[1] The planet was named this in honor of Professor Gustav Stracke [de], without his knowledge of what the term meant, as he was considered to hold the traits that the word described.[1]

Discovery

1201 Streuna was discovered by German astronomer Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth on 14 September 1931, from an observatory in Heidelberg.[2]

Physical characteristics

1201 Streuna has a diameter of 35 km,[3] and an apparent magnitude of 11.46.[4] 1201 Streuna's spectral type was taken during Phase II of the Small Main-Belt Asteroid Spectroscopic Survey in 2004.[5]

Orbital characteristics

1201 Streuna has a semimajor axis of 2.6986863 AU, an orbital period of 4.34 years, an eccentricity of 0.04, and an inclination of 7.00654°.[6] On July 26, 2010, it occulted a 9.6 magnitude star in the constellation Serpens.[3]
