The 147th Reserve Division of the German Wehrmacht was formed in October 1942 from the Division Nr. 147 in Germany where it stayed there until May 1943 when it was sent to the Ukraine on the Eastern Front The division was almost destroyed in January 1944. Most of the surviving troops and equipment were absorbed by the 363rd infantry division.[1]
