150 fd regt
HISTORY
150 Fd Regt was raised on 01 Jul 1979 by Lt Col (now Brig) LM Segat (Retd), with a mixed composition and initial troops pooled in from 54, 166 & 196 Fd Regts. The unit completed its raising process on receiving its Colours on 22 Sep 1979, now celebrated as 'Unit Raising Day'. The unit has held a wide variety of field guns. During the height of militancy in J & K, the unit proved its mettle by single-handedly inflicting major setbacks to the militant outfit. The Unit has performed exceptionally well in OP TRIDENT, OP VIJAY, OP PARAKRAM, & OP FALCON. The unit has distinguished itself in eight operations since its raising and has to its credit, a total of twenty-five awards including two Shaurya Chakras. The Regt, with its tag as 'FIGHTING FIRST FIFTY', in a relatively short span of time has done exceedingly well in all spheres, be it operations, sports or professional development. The Regt participated in EX BHART SHAKTI: visit by PM Narendra Modi & also in integrated firing for President Smt Droupadi Murmu. 29th Feb 2024 was earmarked as a red letter day in the history of the Regt as it received its first ever GOC-IN-C-UNIT CITATION under the able leadership of Col Satyam Singh. The war cry of the Regt is "Durge Mata Ki Jai".
