The 1885 South British Football Soccer Association season refers to the soccer competitions contested under the organisation of the South British Football Soccer Association in 1885. Across the one senior division and cup, this was the first season of organised soccer in New South Wales.

1885 Sydney Badge Series[edit]
The Sydney Badge Series was the first such league competition in Australia and New South Wales. The 1885 Sydney Badge Series was the first edition of the Sydney Badge Series.[3] The season began on 6 June 1885 with six clubs Arcandians, Caledonians, Canterbury, Pyrmont Rangers, Revellers, Wanderers. Caledonians were awarded the Championship and received gold medals after the season was abandoned due to ground shortages cancelling several matches.[4]

1885 NSW Association Cup[edit]
The 1885 NSW Association Cup was the first of organised cup competitions of New South Wales soccer and the NSW Association Cup.[5] Granville won the inaugural cup winning 3–1 against Caledonians in the Final.
