On March 28, 1934, a mass murder occurred at a beach house in Erlands Point, Washington leaving six people killed. The accused, Leo Roderick Bernard Hall (July 6, 1902 — September 11, 1936) and Peggy Peterson Paulos were charged in Kitsap County Superior Court with first-degree murder 18 months later. On December 19, 1935, Hall was found guilty of the murders and sentenced to death, while Hall's unwilling accomplice, Peggy Paulos, was acquitted. Hall was executed by hanging on September 11, 1936 at the Washington State Penitentiary.
