Summary[edit]

In summertime Mexican Secretariat of Public Education announced that Universities' budget must not be spent on professional football teams.[1] President Humberto Filizola [2] without State Government reinforce the squad with the main target of avoiding relegation against Toros Neza, Tampico Madero, Morelia and Tigres UANL. Several players arrived to the club: Alejandro Herrera (Atlante), Daniel Corral (Chivas), Israel Castillo (Tigres), Héctor Medrano (Puebla), Luis Francisco García (Leones Negros), Guillermo “Curita” Gómez (Santos), Leopoldo Castañeda (Querétaro), Carlos Orozco (Tigres), Ramiro Romero (Cruz Azul), Sergio Almaguer (Tigres)[3] and Brazilian Striker Nildeson Silva de Mello (Toluca). Jesus Bracamontes in his second season as manager[4] transferred out Goalkeeper Jesus Alfaro to CD Toluca and Argentine midfielder Gerardo Reinoso to Leon.

On 18 February 1995 after three years without an away victory, Correcaminos defeated Veracruz ending the infamous bad streak at 54 matches. However, on 5 April 1995 in spite of a 4-1 win against Leon, the club was relegated to Liga de Ascenso due to Toros Neza won its match.[5]
