1receipt[1] is an Australian digital receipt management platform owned by Quad Core Pty. Ltd. The company develops software and hardware solutions that allow retailers to issue digital receipts and enables shoppers to store them without sharing personal contact information at the point of sale.[2] The company markets its services under the registered slogan "Goodbye paper receipt".[3]
History
1receipt was founded on 22 December 2019 in Doncaster East, Victoria, by Shahryar Faraji, a computer science graduate from RMIT University.[4][5] The company was established to address issues regarding paper waste and data privacy in retail transactions.[6]
The platform launched publicly in 2020 with a rollout at an IGA supermarket in South Melbourne. Between 2020 and 2023, the company expanded its integration to various point-of-sale systems and independent retailers.[7][8]
In 2024, the company announced an integration with Coles Supermarkets,[6][9] allowing shoppers to receive digital receipts via the 1receipt app by linking their Flybuys loyalty accounts.
In 2025, the company launched rShield[10][11] with its second major retail integration, Officeworks. This privacy-focused feature is designed to mask user identity during digital transactions.
Products
The company offers four primary products:
- 1receipt Digital Receipt: A mobile application that aggregates digital receipts. The app includes features for expense tracking, receipt search, and a rewards system.
- Pyramid Retailer Scanner: A proprietary barcode scanner placed at checkout counters. It allows shoppers to scan a generated barcode to receive a digital receipt without providing an email address or phone number to the merchant.[2]
- Retailer AI Dashboard: An analytics tool for merchants to view transaction data.
- rShield: Launched in 2025[11], this feature generates unique, random email addresses for users. It forwards receipts to the user's primary inbox while keeping their actual email address private from retailers to prevent spam and data tracking.
Awards and recognition
1receipt was named a finalist in the City of Melbourne’s "Melbourne Awards" in the Sustainability category in both 2021[12] and 2023.[13]
The company has received coverage in Australian media outlets such as 9News,[6] RetailBiz,[11] iTWire,[14] EcoVoice,[15] Climate Network Melbourne,[16] and Ausbiz[17] regarding its approach to data privacy and paper waste reduction.
