The group was founded in 1943 and is part of The Scout Association. The group offers adventurous activities for young people (aged 6 to 18) of Farnsfield and surrounding villages to be #betterprepared for a brighter future!

History

The Scout Group was founded in 1943. Thirty-six years after Robert Baden-Powell led a pioneering experimental camp on Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour.

2015 to Present

On 22 February 2016 the scout group won the "Best Scout Group" oak award at the Nottinghamshire county award ceremony. This was given in recognition to the adults who had invested their time voluntarily to ensure the local Farnsfield community could continue to have a scout group. This effort saw the group grow from 22 members in 2014 to 52 in 2015.

In 2018 the scout group will celebrate its 75th Diamond Jubilee Anniversary where a full year of activities will happen.
