The 2000–01 Connecticut Huskies women's basketball team represented the University of Connecticut (UConn) during the 2000–01 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. Geno Auriemma and associate head coach Chris Dailey coached the Huskies to a 32–3 record, a Final Four berth and a Big East tournament championship over rivals and eventual champions Notre Dame, who would later end the Huskies' season in the Final Four—the only time the Huskies would not win the NCAA tournament between 2000 and 2004. Svetlana Abrosimova was named to All-American teams by the AP, the USBWA, and the WBCA, while Sue Bird received AP All-America third team honors.[1] As of April 2023, five players from the '00-'01 Huskies had been named members of UConn's Huskies of Honor program: Svetlana Abrosimova, Sue Bird, Swin Cash, Shea Ralph, and Diana Taurasi.
