The 2008 Hamm Invitational was a professional non-ranking snooker tournament that took place between 28 and 30 November 2008 at the Zentralhallen in Hamm, Germany.[1].
Ronnie O'Sullivan won in the final 6–2 against Barry Hawkins[2].
Format
The competition was played on a challenge basis with the invited players, playing off for the right to challenge the World Champion, Ronnie O'Sullivan, in the final. Players were seeded according to their world rankings. The top 10 ranked players, Ryan Day and Neil Robertson received byes into the second round, while Mark Williams and Barry Hawkins played in the first round against local opponents Patrick Einsle and German-based New Zealander Chris McBreen[3]
