On June 18, 2014, the 2014 Alberta floods began as residents in Claresholm, Alberta woke up to find their city streets flooded. [1]

Due to flooding and rising high waters across southern Alberta, the Alberta government declared states of emergency for several areas including the Blood Reserve, Cardston, Claresholm, Coaldale, Crowsnest Pass, Lethbridge County, Medicine Hat, and Willow Creek. In Claresholm, evacuations have begun as many homes are reportedly underwater.[2]
