The 2016-17 Primera División season, officially Liga de Fútbol Profesional Venezolano or AC1 FUTVE or also the AC1 Movistar FUTVE for sponsorship reasons, will be the 36th professional season of Venezuela's top-flight baseball league and the 13th under its current name. Deportivo Táchira are the defending champions.

The Serie Final will be held between the champions of the Torneo Apertura Runner-up v Champion game and the Torneo Clausura Runner-up v Champion game to decide the champions of the season. The team out of both finalists with the best placement in the aggregate table will host the game.
