The 2020-21 Major Arena Soccer League season is the thirteenth season for the league. Following the COVID-19 pandemic shortened 2019-20 season, MASL officially opened the 2020-21 offseason on July 1, 2020 with the start of free agency.
MASL announced on December 2, 2020 that a modified 2020-21 season would be played with 11 teams opting into the season. Dates of games would range from December 31, 2020, to April 18, 2021. The clubs that opted in are: Baltimore, Dallas, Florida, Harrisburg, Kansas City, Ontario, Rochester, San Diego, St. Louis, Tacoma and Utica. Each team will play between 12 to 24 matches to be considered for the playoffs, the format of which to be announced at a later date.
Mesquite, Turlock, Milwaukee, Monterrey and Sonora are considered members unable to participate due to the various COVID restrictions in their home markets. They remain in good standing with the league.
Standings this year will be based on win percentage, due to potential unequal number of matches played.
