The 2020 AMA Motocross Championship season is the 48th AMA Motocross National Championship season, the premier motocross series in the USA. The season was shortened from 12 to 9 rounds due to the Covid-19 pandemic extending the AMA Supercross season.
Eli Tomac goes into the season as the defending champion in the 450cc class, after taking his third 450cc national title in 2019. Adam Cianciarulo will not defend his 250cc title as he has moved up to race 450cc indefinitely.
Zach Osborne won his first premier class 450cc championship. Dylan Ferrandis did a sweep of both 250cc Supercross West and 250cc Motocross championships.
