The 2020 Toulon Tournament would have been the 48th edition of the Toulon Tournament. It would have been held in the department of Bouches-du-Rhône. The tournament, originally scheduled to be played from 1 to 14 June 2020,[1] was indefinitely postponed in April[2] and cancelled on 24 October 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in France.[3]
Participants[edit]
The tournament would have been contested by twelve teams, but only seven teams were announced before the cancellation: DR Congo, England, Ivory Coast, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, and Vietnam.
This would have been the first appearance of Vietnam in the Toulon Tournament.[4] The Republic of Ireland was originally scheduled to the tournament, but later pulled out due to budget restriction.[5]
