2020 Trinidad protests
The 2020 Trinidad protests was a series of Riots in Trinidad and Tobago against a killing of 3 black men and demanded police reforms and an end to Police brutality and Inequality. The protests first began on 30 June, a day after the incident, and turned violent when police intervened and used Tear gas to disperse protesters but demonstrations continued; protesters were adamant. The demands were clear, an end to Police brutality and quick reforms. Violent protests rocked the country over the next few days, demanding an end to the government and Violence against women. Marches was also held before the protests began in solidarity with the ongoing George Floyd protests in the United States of America. Protests consisted of increasingly violent clashes and Looting, Arson and Riots and growing opposition while police and the military used Rubber bullets and Tear gas to disperse the protesters, who pelted rocks and stones at police and set fires to Trucks and Cars. The protests were quelled by July 10. The protests had left several police officers Injured and civilians too.[1][2][3]
