The 2021–22 season will be the inaugural season for the Seattle Kraken NHL team. They will play their home games at the Climate Pledge Arena.
Expansion draft[edit]
The team will fill its roster by selecting players in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft. They will be required to select or sign one player, who wasn't protected, from each existing team except for the Vegas Golden Knights.[1]
Entry draft[edit]
Seattle's first round pick will be determined in the draft lottery. They will be given the same odds as the team with the third worst point total from the 2020–21 season, which ended up being the New Jersey Devils. They won't draft any lower than fifth overall and will draft third in each subsequent round.[2]
