The 2021 Tamil Nadu Premier League was the fifth season of the TNPL, a professional Twenty20 cricket league established by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) in 2016. The tournament was scheduled from July 19 to August 15, 2021, with all matches played in Chennai. Chepauk Super Gillies were the defending champions from the 2019 edition of TNPL.
Defending champions Chepauk Super Gillies successfully retained their title with an 8-run win against Ruby Trichy Warriors in the final on August 15, 2021.
Background[edit]
The league was originally scheduled for June 2021 but was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament resumed in July after getting clearance from the state government.
