The 2021 United States Senate special election in California is an election in 2021 to elect a member of the United States Senate to represent the State of California to finish Vice President-elect Kamala Harris's term that expires in 2023.
One Term US Senator Kamala Harris was elected in 2016. On November 7, 2020, She became Vice President-elect when She and President-elect Joe Biden won the 2020 US Presidential Election. She will be sworn in on January 20, 2021 making her seat vacant. Governor Gavin Newsom will appoint a senator and set a date for a special election.
