- 29 January: Nagaland's first satellite television network—Hornbill TV was launched.[3]
December[edit]
- 1 December: The Kohima Capital Cultural Center opens.[4]
- 4–5 December – A unit of 21st Para Special Forces, the special forces unit, killed six civilian labourers near Oting village in the Mon District of Nagaland. Eight more civilians and a soldier were killed in subsequent violence.[5]
- 18 December – Three new Districts of Nagaland were created—Chümoukedima District, Niuland District and Tseminyü District.[6]
