The 2023–24 Inter Regions Division is the 61st season of the third tier in the Algerian football league system and the 4th in its current format. This season is contested by 96 clubs geographically split into 2 zonal leagues that are present in the Algerian Ligue 2 then across 6 groups; South West, West, Centre West, Centre East, East and South East.[1]
Teams[edit]
On 2 August 2023, the LNFA published the groups of the competition.[2]
- Teams joining the division
- US Chaouia, HAMRA Annaba, JSM Skikda, MC Saida, WA Tlemcen and RC Relizane finished in the relegation positions in the 2022–23 Algerian Ligue 2.[3]
- JS Azazga, US Boukhadra, AS Bordj Ghedir, US Bechar Djedid, HRB Fouka, RC Bougaa, CRB Ben Badis, O El Oued, IRB Kheneg and IRB Sougueur finished in the promotion positions in the 2022-23 Ligue Régional I.
- Teams leaving the division
- Olympique Akbou, ESM Kolea, MSP Batna, WA Mostaganem, O Magrane, JS Guir were champions of each group and were promoted to the 2023–24 Algerian Ligue 2.[4]
- WR M'Sila, NARB Reghaia, CA Bordj Bou Arreridj, JS Tixeraine, SC Aïn Defla, ESF Bir El Ater, CRB Kais, IRB Maghnia, FCB Frenda, ES Ouargla and IR Biodh (who forfeited the rest of the season) [5] finished in the relegation positions and were relegated to the Ligue Régional I.
Promotion and Relegation[edit]
The top team in each group will be promoted to 2024–25 Algerian Ligue 2.
The bottom two teams are relegated and depending on which teams are relegated from the 2023-24 Algerian Ligue 2 and which teams are promoted from the Ligue Régional I, teams in positions 13 and 14 are also up for relegation.[6]
