2023 Didsbury tornado
The 2023 Didsbury Tornado was a powerful and menacing tornado that struck the southern Alberta towns of Didsbury and Carstairs, Alberta on Saturday, July 1, 2023.
The tornado was classified at an EF-4 level on the Enhanced Fujita Scale. The tornado proceeded to be 620 meters wide and spanned a damage path of over 15 kilometers.
Due to this tornado, it was the strongest tornado to have hit Alberta since Black Friday, an F4 tornado that struck Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, on Friday, July 31, 1987.
About twelve homes were damaged and five homes were completely destroyed from the high winds exceeding 275 km/h (170 mph) and many livestock were killed.
