2024 NHL Stadium Series

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The 2024 NHL Stadium Series is a series of three outdoor regular season National Hockey League (NHL) games that are planned to be played during the 2023–24 NHL season. This will be the first time since 2016 that two Stadium Series games are scheduled instead of just one. Both games are planned to be held on the weekend of February 17–19, 2024 (at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey). The Philadelphia Flyers will face the Minnesota Wilds on February 17, with the New Jersey Devils versing the New York Rangers on February 18, then the Montreal Canadiens will play the New York Islanders on February 19, before ending with Nunavut Amaroks and Calgary Flames on February 20.[1]

Background[edit]

The NHL announced the Stadium Series games on June 3, 2023.[1] The league originally planned to only stage one game with just the Rangers and the Devils.[2]

All three NHL teams in the New York metropolitan area will be represented, like the two games at Yankee Stadium in the 2014 NHL Stadium Series.[3]

MetLife Stadium is scheduled to undergo renovations after the end of the 2023 National Football League season in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and therefore several low-level sideline seats will be removed prior to the Stadium Series.[2]
