20 Microns Limited is an Indian manufacturer of micronized industrial minerals and specialty chemical additives serving the paints & coatings, plastics, rubber, construction and paper industries.[1]
History
20 Microns was incorporated in 1987 and began commercial production in the late 1980s; it converted to a public limited company in the 1990s.[2] It was later listed on Indian stock exchanges.[3] In January 2009 the company announced a planned investment of about ₹1 billion [4]
to expand mining and processing capacity for minerals such as attapulgite, bentonite and kaolin.[5]
In 2021 the company entered into a joint venture agreement with the German minerals firm Dorfner (Gebrüder Dorfner GmbH & Co. KG) to market and distribute coloured quartz products in India and related territories; the JV agreement was executed on 2 February 2021 [6] [7] according to public filings and market notices.[8]
