22706 Ganguly (1998 RT56) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on September 14, 1998 by the Lincoln Laboratory Near-Earth Asteroid Research Team at Socorro. The asteroid was named after Shilpi Ganguly (b. 1994) from Overland Park, KS by MIT Lincoln Lab for her research in medicine and biochemistry. She currently attends Washington University in St. Louis pursuing a double major in Bio-medical Engineering and Spanish.
