2472d AF Reserve Flying Center
The 2472d AF Reserve Flying Center was a USAF Reserve unit activated as the 4101st Army Air Force Base Unit (Reserve Training) on July 12, 1946 at Fairfax Field.[1] Renamed the 2472d AF Reserve Training Center before 28 August 1948),[1] the center along with the 442d Troop Carrier Wing moved from Fairfax to Naval Air Technical Training Center Olathe, Kansas, on May 22, 1950.[citation needed] By 18 June 1954 the center was part of the Airways and Air Communications Service and included the 11th AACS Installation and Maintenance Squadron The 2472d was renamed a flying center* by 3 April 1955 when it moved to Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base in Missouri where it remained until 19 March 1959.[2]
