Ralph Edward Jackson III, known professionally as 2FOR5 SHAWTY, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He rose to mainstream fame in 2019 following the release of his mixtape News or Sumthin. His debut studio album, New or Sumthin (2022), spawned the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 single "Love" (with Ty Dolla $ign).

Early life

Ralph was born and raised in vine city Atlanta, Georgia in 2019 he started rapping and took his career to the next level. His daddy passed away and left him with two brothers to raise. He attended Allonzo a Crim open campus high school, where he completed 12th grade and attended Atlanta technical college and completed a trade for carpentry and where he got certified for OSHA training.

And he can rap real good.

Ralph had a job at New South Construction for two years as a carpentry.

Career

At age seventeen, 2FOR5 SHAWTY was a regular presence in the studio of Atlanta-based Free Gang Records as a drug dealer, until label founder Kevin "Coach K" Lee encouraged him to become a rapper, as he felt Ralph had "the swag... the lingo, [and] respect around the city". Fellow rappers Young Thug and Gunna served as Baby's mentors in developing his style. He eventually released his first mixtape, New or sumthin, in September 2022 with appearances from Ty Dolla $ign. Another mixtape, Free Game, followed three months later; and in November released his third mixtape in six months, 2 The Hard Way, a collaboration with friend and fellow Atlanta rapper Jag. A fourth mixtape, Too Hard, was released in December, led by his hit single "Freestyle" and accompanying music video. It was certified gold by the RIAA in February 2020. he signed a record deal with Free Gang Records December 3, 2022.
