2N Telekomunikace a.s. develops and manufactures products in the field of access control systems and lift communication. It is one of the largest manufacturers of IP intercoms in the world. 2N became a joint-stock company in 2000...[1]
History of the company[edit]
2N was founded in 1991. Its original plan was to manufacture and develop telecommunication PBXs and GSM gateways. In 2008, the company introduced the world’s first IP intercom, and within a few years this initially marginal segment became a dominant force on the market[2].
In 2016, the Swedish company Axis Communications[3] became 2N’s majority shareholder.

2N is based in the Modřany district of Prague, which is home to the entire development department. A total of 375 employees work at 2N.

Apart from intercoms for use outdoors, the 2N portfolio also includes indoor answering units, cloud-based device management and the integration of its solutions. The company plans to use 5G networks as one of the many new emerging technologies[5]

2N cooperates with Czech Technical University in Prague (ČVUT). 2N cooperates with CVUT on research and innovation projects. This partnership program is aimed at promoting joint projects as well as building a company’s brand at the faculty and outside the faculty using press releases and other media outputs.[7]
2N also cooperatest with VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava[8]. Since its establishment, the Department of Telecommunications Technology has placed emphasis on cooperation with industry. 2N hase been one of the main partners of the department for several years.
