2 Anthony Road
2 Anthony Road is a compound on Anthony Road in Newton, Singapore which currently houses the Ascott Centre for Excellence. It previously served as the campus of the Anthony Road Girls' School and later as the premises of the Chaoyang School.
History
The Anthony Road Girls' School was one of four "emergency" schools built in Singapore in 1950 under the Supplementary Education Plan.[1] Bomb[2] [3]
The Anthony Road Girls' School closed down in late 1983, after which the site was used as the temporary premises for the St Margaret's School (Primary) while it waited for its new campus to be completed in 1986.[4] Chaoyang[5][6]
The compound currently houses the Ascott Centre for Excellence, a training centre for the hospitality sector.[1]
