In a time where technological advancements drive the market and the various forces that pour in countless dollars to facilitate and automate the discovery of new inventions, a fresh initiative is being initiated by the 2live.in team.
Let's state some facts published by techaddiction.ca, for children under the age of 8, in the US:[2]
- 67% of children own a video game system.
- 29% of children own an educational gaming system.
- 42% of children have a television in their bedroom.
Another study by the National Association of Independent Schools states that:
- Depression is likely to affect eighth graders by 27 percent more, who are heavy social media users.
- Also, over-indulgence in technology and time spent alone has increased the probability of suicides.[3][4]
In light of such studies repeatedly coming to the forefront by major thought leaders, a small team of IT executives has formulated an idea where they plan to leverage technology and then move away from it. In other words, the use of technology is limited to collaboration and initial discovery of activities, and then the children meet up and engage in the physical world. The solution will offer like-minded users the option to search for similar participants by age group and in their area of proximity for collaboration.[5]
In other words, it's a marketplace where users can either create an event in their area for other similar users to participate or can participate in other events in their neighborhood. Since the platform will be used by parents or guardians, all activities will happen in the presence of an adult.
The platform is still under development, and they have started marketing on platforms like Instagram[6] and Pinterest [7].
