[4672] is a Polish underground industrial metal band from Poznań. Formed in 2010 in UK, the group was founded by guitarist Artur Ostrowski, later joined by Przemysław Trzaskowski and Piotr Wasyluk. [4672] went through several lineup changes over the years, with Artur Ostrowski as the only remaining founding member. Since 2011, the band has comprised Artur Ostrowski as main guitarist, jaw's harp by Przemysław Trzaskowski, and Piotr Wasyluk on vocals.

Biography

[4672] was formed in 2010 in Abingdon-on-Thames, United Kingdom. However, at this time [4672] was an industrial metal band, later evolving into math rock, djent and then self-described by the band as antimusic. The band's first album 452Hz released in 2011 gained attention in United States and United Kingdom. The album was recognised by Sign me to RoadRunner Records, however shortly after that the site was shut down and the band decided to self-produce its first album. In 2013 Takuboku album, named after 4672 Takuboku, has been released featuring Piotr Majcher on vocals. The band released Noema fully instrumental album in 2015 and shortly after that Paradox in 2016. Finally, after three years in the making, in 2019 the band released a video by SickStudio to the single Aether, which led the band to its first contract with record label Ermland Productions in 2018, then Moans Music in 2019, and gaining worldwide exposure.

[4672]'s music is entirely written by Ostrowski, with the exception of vocal lines which are created by musicians featured on albums.[1][2]

Reception

Their song lyrics are conceptual, exploring humanities with a twist of theoretical physics, merging with the esoteric side of things, and infused by an apocalyptic vision of the future and concepts that can be seen in science fiction. In 2019, Fokow described it as a "dark, cold and psychedelic world of aether, which can either fascinate or be completely disregarded by the listener."[3]

Brzeźnicki described it as an "unconventional mixture of unprecedented genres of music[4] [5] [6]. [aether] has been described recently by Kleszewski as "the most disappointing surprise of recent time", also complemented by Michalski as "difficult yet fascinating, full of contradictions and almost impossible to digest mentally."[7][8][9]
