Alan McCredie is a Scottish photographer, author, and lecturer based in Edinburgh. His work focuses on capturing the cultural and social fabric of Scotland through documentary, portraiture and travel photography.
Career
McCredie has worked extensively as a freelance photographer, covering theatre, television, and political events.
In the lead-up to the 2014 Scottish independence referendum, he launched the project 100 Weeks of Scotland, a photographic exploration of Scottish life, identity, and culture. He is a regular photo contributor to Nutmeg Magazine, and many other magazines, including Scottish Field, When Saturday Comes etc.
Alongside Val McDermid he has been a regular panel member, representing Scotland, on Radio 4's Round Britain Quiz.

Personal Life
McCredie was born in Perth, where he attended Perth High School, before studying at The University of Stirling and The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He is married to the Scottish actress Jenny Ryan, and has two children.
