West Support Inc. - an American human rights organization with a 501(c)(3) federal income tax exemption. The main office is located in Brooklyn, New York State. In her work she covers more than 15 countries such as the United States, Poland, Colombia, Ecuador, Ukraine, Peru, Sudan, Moldova, Georgia, Niger, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Chad, Bolivia, Venezuela and others. More than 25 organizations, and more than 30 commercial companies are involved in the implementation of projects as partners. 50 employees and 1500 volunteers work on projects.
History
In 2020, the organizations "Give Right to Life" and "Union for Cultural Development", faced a number of acute problems in their work to expand their capabilities, a higher level of social trust and the outlook of the covered problems for the "Protection of Human Rights" and united to create a single, human rights organization "West Support Inc." Give Right to Life (GRL) - a human rights organization based in the United States was established in 1978 with a mission to end hunger, malnutrition and poverty in a sustainable manner in countries such as Niger, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Chad, Bolivia, Venezuela. The GRL has advocated a right to food in which everyone gets adequate and nutritious food. The organization tackled vital food shortages by addressing the root causes of hunger. Thus, it actively promoted rural development and agriculture to enable women and men living in rural areas to overcome hunger and poverty on their own. The organization also struggled with the problem of lack of clean water for particularly needy areas. During emergencies, it distributed food, water and supplementary food to the most vulnerable (the elderly and children). About 14,000 people and more than 20 organizations were involved in the work to implement projects. Union for Cultural Development (UCD) – is an American educational organization founded by Jon Wilson (a public figure and research fellow) in 1991 in Chicago, Illinois State. It fought to improve education and health for children and adolescents in South America. To improve the quality of learning and help ensure lifelong learning, members have trained educators on effective learning strategies and educated learners. They in turn held meetings with parents and guardians to help children get the necessary education and continue their education outside the classroom. (UCD), in turn, did not disregard the issues of psychological and physical health. During the work, more than 50 medical workers, 700 teachers and 1000 volunteers have joined social activities.
Activities and litigation
Program «West Support Inc.» envisions a world where all people have the freedom to enjoy equally all their human rights so as to reach their full potential and live in dignity. It advances and protects human rights by supporting individuals and nations striving to realize the civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights and responsibilities enumerated by the U.N.’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights and a growing body of public international law. Including the right to education, health, food, water, housing, work, and other economic, social and cultural rights that are necessary for human dignity, including for people with disabilities. It also does not ignore the acute problems of preserving, improving and protecting the environment.
