6ixRings

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Christopher Jamonn Horn (born December 7, 1988) known by his stage name 6IXRINGS ("SIX-RINGS") full artist name "6IXRINGS DA CHAMP" in relation to sports, as well as his favorite Jordan basketball shoe. This is what the Detroit-bred rapper, singer, songwriter, hopes to be in the rap game, a legend. He showcases split-personalities in his music with some tracks that feature R&B singing and some that feature rap with robust delivery. When 6ixRings crafts a song, he doesn't stick to one specific structure, he instead opts to explore uncharted territory and dip into different styles every time. He doesn't want to stick to one particular sound and will always experiment with different genres. As a songwriter his hooks and melodies always come to him naturally. The result is something astoundingly authentic and oozing with originality.

Early Life

He was born in Detroit, Michigan and is the 2nd born to a family of 6, having 3 siblings, 1 brother and 2 sisters. At 15 he began his artistic career in painting at Wayne State University art program. Which quickly pivoted to writing and recording music. Singing and creating melodies on-the-fly was always a way for him to center himself, as he experiences adhd, anxiety and depression. At the age of 18 he wrote for the UK artist Jaxz and created demos for artists on Audacity and Cakewalk but never releasing his own material until 2020.

Career

2020-21: Freshman Year

In 2020 6ixRings released his first single "Love and Money", which featured production by SAGII. It was followed up by a bass-heavy song titled "FLEX". Which he used to introduce 6ix, his rap persona. The release of his 2021 EP "Freshman Year" was his effort to compile a group of songs which he created to embody his musical tastes.

The independent artist writes, records and distributes all his music himself. Over the years he’s had the blessing to be able to work with mixing engineers and producers Jeffrey Tanner who have helped craft the iconic sound of artists like Lil Wayne, IamSu!, Diddy and DaniLeigh. His single “JETSKI” was mixed by Cody Oleksuk of ATG and mastered by Joe Grasso of Capitol Records. He’s worked a lot with Red Charon at Babylon Studios Detroit who truly gave life to his mixes on "Freshman Year".

After "Freshman Year" 6ixRings released "Levels" which showcased a lighter more melodic sound. He continued to drop various singles and song packs such as "RAGS 2 RICH", "feelin like", and "standing in the rain".

2022: Call Up My Friends, High End Enlightened, and Shoot & Score

While creating new music in 2022 he worked with Denmark producer "Diesel", which birthed the release of the hyper-pop song "Call Up My Friends". Going in a more mellow direction after the release of "Call Up My Friends", his new EP "High End Enlightened" was released in April of 2022 which contained 4 new songs, "High End Enlightened", "Billionaire", "Everything (Todo Y Todo) and "Be Careful (Going Through It)".

6ixRings released a track titled "LIZZO", referencing the artist Lizzo. The song featured other independent artists Rashad Stark, Looney Superb and D'laney. The song was also included in his new song pack release alongside the lead track "Shoot & Score" which is his latest release.
