Perry Shaw (born January 21, 1994), professionally known as 88Rackz, is an English record producer and songwriter from Milton Keynes, UK.
Early life[edit]
Perry Shaw was born on January 21, 1994 in Slough, United Kingdom. He grew up with his mom & has no siblings.
Rackz & his mother moved to Milton Keynes when he was 21 years old and said that this is where he first started to look into Beat production. He was inspired by a friend who was selling beats online at the time and making money. Rackz downloaded FL Studio (formerly known as FruityLoops)[1] which is a digital audio workstation developed by the Belgian company Image-Line. FL Studio features a graphical user interface based on a pattern-based music sequencer., started to watch YouTube videos on the basics of music production and practising day & night. He then began to make music and publish it to YouTube and beat selling platforms.>
Early career[edit]
After not long in the game, Rackz had manage to build up a strong artist contact list for major artists, some which include Jeremih, Tyga, Fabolous, Gunna, Roddy Ricch and more. Racks states that he would constantly be on social media site Instagram sending DM's to artists in order to gain a direct email for him to send his beats across.
Racks got his first placement in October 2018 when he began to work with Sacramento rapper E Mozzy. The UK producer landed 2 beats on the rappers latest Album 'Easy Mathematics', titled Don't Lie To Me[2] & Same As which featured E Mozzy's older brother & well known rapper Mozzy. The music video for the track Don't Lie To Me has so far racked up just under 140,000 views on E Mozzy's youtube channel in just 1 month.[3]
Freebandz artist Test was the next artist that Rackz had started to work closely with. After sending Test a bunch of trap beats in October, Test had recorded to one of them which started to draw a lot of attention on social media site Instagram [4] The Baltimore artist then took a trip out to London to film a scene for his upcoming music video for the track Jump Of A Jet from his latest album. Whilst in London Test linked up with Rackz & close friend Laine Hitz to hit the studio where they would record their next record Already Know which is to be released in early 2019.
On November 14, 2018, upcoming email artist Ray Moon had sent Rackz a direct message informing the UK producer that she had recorded to one of his beats he had previously sent over via email. She posted a preview video on Instagram around a week later in which she is seen to be in the studio playing the track she had recorded.
